Site Maintenance

Due to some website cleanup and maintenance the site was discontinued for some time. I apologize for any inconvenience that may have occurred. ++ Alexander

Frog Calls

I have started adding frog calls to pages. You will see a small speaker icon above the species’ description once the call has been added. For now, see Philautus tectus and Limnonectes palavanensis as examples. ++ Alexander

Teaching at Kubah Natl. Park/Update

We have just come back from teaching tropical herpetology at Kubah National Park. This was a joint effort of Zoological Museum Hamburg and IBEC/UNIMAS Kuching. The trip was very successful and the scientific data collected will keep us busy for a while. We were able to nicely document some frog species so that I begun to replace some of the older images by newer one and to add some more information. If you have observations relevant for our website let me know. ++ Alexander

Conference on the Biology of Amphibians in the Sunda Region

International Conference on the “Biology of the Amphibians in the Sunda-Region”
to be held 28 September – 03 October 2009, Kuching (Malaysia)

With this conference we would like to bring together different groups of people with interest in Sunda amphibians. Our hope is that this conference will not only allow us to inform each other about past and present activities and research, but especially strengthen networking among groups. This includes all groups interested in amphibians, such as researchers, park managers, conservation authorities, students, etc. We think that currently there are many activities in the Sunda Region concerning amphibians, but often these activities are still too isolated. We would like to encourage particularly those researchers who are interested in networking, innovation, and collaboration to participate in this meeting.
