According to Inger and Stuebing (2005) this toad is found in lowlands up to 400 m above sea level in seepage areas.

The body is slender in both sexes. Hind limbs are very long, making this toad a good jumper. Distinct cross marks on the dorsum make identification easy.
Size of adults: 30 mm in males, 40–50 mm snout-vent length in females
