Fejervarya limnocharis inhabits open country, clearings, agricultural land, road ditches , inner city parks and other habitats created or disturbed by humans.
It is a very common frog with a loud voice in males. Choruses are formed at suitable reproduction sites and can be heard over long distances. This frog is relatively stout but still fast and agile.

We found tadpoles in shallow puddles with sandy-silty bottom on banks of roads, paddy fields, parking lots etc. These puddles are sun exposed and the water can get very warm, obviously without detrimental effects on the tadpoles.
The tadpole is moderately dorsoventrally compressed, ovoid from above. Total length 30–40 mm. The tail is relatively short. The dorsal side is brown or grey. The belly is silver with a silver streak along the midline.
