Horned Frogs

Five species are currently recognized. The genus previously contained more species that have been split up between various other genera; the Taxonomy is still in flux. These frogs can get fairly large, especially in females (pronounced sexual dimorphism). Horned frogs are perfectly camouflaged on the forest floor leaf litter. The do not move much, but sit and wait for their prey. Because the gape size is large, large prey items can be engulfed.

The distribution includes Peninsular Thailand to islands of Sundaland, Philippines
