Crowned Bullfrogs


6 species have been described in the genus Hoplobatrachus (ASW). These are large and powerful frogs often harvested for food from rice paddies. The only species on Borneo, H. rugulosus has been introduced. The natural geographic range of the genus includes Subsaharan Africa south to Angola, northeastern Zambia and Tanzania; India, Sri Lanka, Malay Peninsula, Myanmar, Thailand, and southern China.
