Leptobrachium

Leptobrachium

Litter Frogs

The genus contains approximately three dozens of species and new species continue to be discovered. The species are medium to large in size and are leaf litter sit-and-wait predators. The fore limbs are relatively long and slender, whereas the hind limbs appear too small for that size for frog. In the Bornean species, tadpoles can grow large and are found in slow moving sections of rocky streams.

The distribution includes Southern China and India, Sunda Shelf islands, Philippines.
